Hoisin Sauce

Hoisin Sauce

I was making an Asian-themed dinner and realized the marinade for the Asian chicken wings required hoisin sauce, and of course, I didn’t have any. Thankfully, I found a homemade hoisin sauce recipe on Up Close & Tasty, which I had all the ingredients for! It’s not a traditional hoisin sauce recipe, but it’s delicious! This homemade hoisin sauce can be used in marinades, sauces, vinaigrettes, and dips. Store the extra sauce in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

Hoisin Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • ¼ tsp sriracha, more if desired

How to Make Hoisin Sauce

Combine the soy sauce, peanut butter, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and sriracha in a bowl.

Whisk until well combined. Set aside 10-15 minutes before using to allow the flavors to mingle.

Store remaining sauce in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

  1. I am sure it is better than the store bought since it is fresh a pure.
It would be perfect to dip or a marinade.

Have a beautiful Easter season. Blessings, Catherine xo
