Easy Pear Butter

Easy Pear Butter

I had some ripe pears that needed to be used up so I went in search of some recipe inspiration. I found this easy pear butter recipe on Gimme Some Oven and I had everything I needed on hand – I love that. I loved apple butter as a kid and my kids love pumpkin butter, so I thought we would all enjoy this pear butter. The pears and spices simmered for an hour then blended until creamy and smooth. My kids ate some of it warm from the pan and LOVED it. I had some slathered on an English muffin and thought it was so delicious.

Easy Pear Butter

How to Make Easy Pear Butter

Combine the diced pear, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, clove, and nutmeg together in a saucepan over medium-high heat until boiling. Reduce heat, cover partially with a lid, and cook, stirring often, for 50-60 minutes.

Place into a blender (or use a hand immersion blender) and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into a canning jar, seal, and refrigerator until ready to use.

Side Note: If your pear butter is too runny, feel free to simmer the mixture longer on the stove to allow it to reduce more.

  1. Looks and sounds delicious! I love apple butter, and I love pears, so it’s not far out on the limb to guess that I’d love this, too.

I have never tried it but I think it would work well. Let me know how it goes if you give it a try.
