Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwich

My kids were home from school for a snow/ice day yesterday due to bad road conditions. My kids and a friend were all bundled up playing outside so I decided to make them a nice warm sandwich for lunch. I had some pizza sauce in the fridge along with some mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices. I decided to make a grilled cheese extra special by using pizza ingredients. My kids and their friend all loved these sandwiches and deemed them blog-worthy.

Lightly butter the remaining piece of bread on one side then spread a bit more sauce on the other, place it on top of the sandwich. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich with a spatula and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown. Slice in half and serve immediately. Enjoy!

  1. Great idea! I was thinking of having a grilled cheese with tomato a few minutes ago.

And Mark has not had a single snow delay or closure this year, although the past 3 mornings have featured single digit temperatures. I expect to get slammed in late January and February, because it usually evens out.

  2. very great idea! i like pizza very much but can’t seem to find a crust recipe that’s easy while still being delicious. i’ll have to try this!

    1. Pooja,

You can try but I have a feeling it would get soggy. It’s definitely tastiest hot from the stove.
