Mini Chocolate M&M Cookies

Mini Chocolate M&M Cookies

For this week’s school lunch treat, I decided to use up some mini m&m’s I’ve had in the baking cupboard for a while. Who can resist little buttery chocolate cookies with cute mini m&m’s? Not my kids – they absolutely loved these cookies, especially warm from the oven. Both of my kids gave these cookies two thumbs up and said they are “very blog-worthy”.

How to Make Mini Chocolate M&M Cookies

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a silpat mat.

Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt together into a bowl.

Beat the butter with white sugar and brown sugar until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla; beat until creamy. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until combined. Add the mini m&m’s and mini chocolate chips to the batter then stir to combine. Place into the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Form the cookie dough into teaspoon size balls and place on the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.

Place into the oven and bake for 8 minutes, or until the edges are just turning crisp but still soft in the center. Remove from the oven and immediately gently press a few mini m&m’s & mini chocolate chips to the top of each cookie. Side Note: This is an optional step, but it does make the cookies look extra pretty.

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to continue cooling. Serve with ice-cold milk. Enjoy!
